26 November, Eventforum Bern

Social innovations provide decisive and diverse impulses for a just transition towards net zero, including new forms of sharing and collaboration, purpose-driven business models, and innovative participation formats. In this workshop, we will use an impact model to guide our reflection on the contributions and mechanisms of social innovation. Using inspiring real-world examples, we will concretize potential contributions and discuss the political, institutional, and societal conditions necessary to foster and leverage this potential. Together, we will develop initial ideas for research and policy agendas that establish social innovations as an integral part of climate transformation.

Workshop program:

  • Welcome
  • Presentation of the impact model and case studies
  • In-depth examination of impact pathways using case studies in a World Café format
  • Joint derivation of implications
  • Exploring joint next steps
