Jonas Lüscher was born in Switzerland in 1976 and completed his teacher education in Bern. He studied philosophy in Munich and Zurich and has lived in Munich since 2000. In 2013, his literary debut, the novella Spring of the Barbarians, was published, followed in 2017 by the novel Kraft, in 2019 by the poetics lecture Taking Refuge in Storytelling, and in 2020 by the correspondence The Populist Planet; all published by C.H.Beck. In 2025, the novel Enchanted Predestination was published by Hanser.
Jonas Lüscher has been awarded, among others, with the Prix Franz Hessel, the Raabe Prize, the Swiss Book Prize, and the Max Frisch Prize. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages.
