About us
New governance structure
The Sustainability Science Forum is entering a new phase: with an expanded governance structure, the congress is being put on a broader basis. This will enable the dialogue at the interface between science and practice to be strengthened. In this way, scientific evidence can be used to provide targeted support for political and social action and to feed unresolved issues back into science.
A strong network for shaping a sustainable future
The University of Bern, the University of Lausanne, the University of Basel, the Bern University of Applied Sciences, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the University of St. Gallen, and the Federal Procurement Conference (BKB/KBOB) now jointly take responsibility for the event. They do so together with the SCNAT Sustainability Research Initiative (SRI), the Forum Landscape, Alps, Parks (FoLAP), and the Forum for Climate and Global Change (ProClim). This extensive network highlights the event's's significance as a discussion space bringing together actors from various fields to foster dialogue on sustainable development and provide scientifically grounded perspectives on pressing issues.
Host 2025: Bern University of Applied Sciences
In addition to the new governing structure, each edition of the Sustainability Science Forum will from now on be supported by a host institution that is particularly committed to the organisation and content. We are delighted that Bern University of Applied Sciences will be hosting the Sustainability Science Forum 2025!
The Sustainability Science Forum: A meeting place for a growing community
Since its inception in 2021, the Sustainability Science Forum brings together an interdisciplinary community of professionals united by a keen interest in sustainability science. Within a few years, it has become a key meeting point. With the new governance, we are building on past successes and strengthen the successful formats through extended collaboration.
The following organizations constitute the governing body of the Sustainability Science Forum. They support the event financially and organisationally and form the Conference Board, which determines the strategic and thematic orientation of the event.
