Born in Lausanne, Raphaël Mahaim obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences and a law degree from the University of Lausanne, followed by a PhD in environmental law from the University of Fribourg. He is a partner in the r&associés law firm in Lausanne, and one of the founding lawyers of the association ‘Avocat.e.s pour le climat’ (Lawyers for the Climate). Raphaël Mahaim has been involved in various high-profile court cases in recent years, including that of the senior women for climate protection. After 15 years as a member of the Vaud Cantonal Council, he joined the National Council in 2022. He serves on the Legal Affairs Committee and is vice-president of the Green Party parliamentary group.
